Poor Roxie. You sure have my sympathy with those "please stop eyes" of yours.

I read this to my husband and he howled. My girls like to talk like Roxie and it annoys him, but he really thought it was funny (me too). Poor Roxie.

Oh no! Roxie what's going on with your leg that your mom needed to call the veternary man lady?

I heard you have a very expensive tube of DMSO now.

The blood draw was something I keep meaning to do and forgetting about when the vet is actually around. Roxie drinks a TON of water and I wanted to make sure everything was cool with her liver and kidneys (it is).
The soundness exam is because she has been NQR in the right hind since October. I had a hard time telling if it was actual lameness or someone's lousy work ethic. She went acutely off on it over the Christmas holiday, which is why i called the vet. Diagnosis is a minor inflammation of one of the three ligaments that come together at the front of the stifle. Dr. Herning (who i MAJORLY recommend as he is completely awesome) said he sees it all the time in the winter as it is a common slippage injury. He directed me to slap a handful of DMSO on it every other day and gently walk-trot under saddle as rehab.

So, yes. $400 later I have a bottle of DMSO and direction to do what I was basically doing anyway. :)

Poor Roxie, I bet your human was doin the "this will hurt my wallet more than it hurts you" thing as well. It's not nice when humans don't listen to you. I know mine didn't today so we had a major argument. Still got my carrot though!

Roxy - I luff you. Mr. Vet man did not steal my blood, but I had to go trot trot for hours too. At least he didn't tell your mum to get you a grazing muzzle. :( Unhappy Spoon.

Roxie, you have won another award! It is far less than you deserve, since you are the only equine I know who has her very own blog, but stop by Aging Gratefully and retrieve it if you are trodding by.

Hi Roxie!

You are so very hilarious! I love reading your blogs. You have so much personality!! You're one of the blogs that inspired me to start my own for my new horse. She's the same breed as your roommate horse, but she's a lot less bite-y, promise!

Hope you're doing well, I miss your posts!

Roxie, I, too, have an award for you over at my blog. You are truly deserving of all these accolades, but my hidden agenda was to encourage you to keep up the great, entertaining posts. You may take or leave the award as you wish.
